Our Puppy Start Right Socialization Class is designed for puppies under 16 weeks old to ensure they have the best start in life. This class focuses on positive exposure to new experiences, including handling, novel items, sounds, and puppy play, helping your puppy develop confidence and resilience. We also address common training concerns such as potty training, crate training, and biting.
Led by Puppy Start Right Certified Instructors, our class provides a safe and structured environment for your puppy to learn and socialize, setting the foundation for a well-behaved and well-adjusted adult dog. With continuous enrollment, your puppy can start at any time, ensuring they receive the critical early socialization they need to thrive. 4 weekly classes (this can be adjusted to attend more or less). Maximum of 8 puppies. Includes a clicker and access to our online course for new puppy owners.

For puppies who are currently enrolled in a Wise Canine class or who have completed one in the past. These social playgroups are designed to give puppies the chance to interact with their puppy peers under the guidance of an expert. Whether your puppy is a social butterfly or a cautious wallflower needing encouragement, we’re here to support them! Maximum of 6 puppies.
Important Requirements: Puppies must be currently enrolled in a Wise Canine class or have completed one in the past. This helps us ensure your puppy is a good fit for the group. These drop-ins are perfect for friendly puppies or those who need a little boost in confidence.
If your puppy struggles with reactive or aggressive behaviors such as barking, lunging, or fighting, these sessions might not be a good fit. We’d be happy to discuss private coaching options to better meet your puppy’s needs.

Basic Manners Class is for older puppies, teens and adult dogs who need to learn the basics. Learn foundation skills and behaviors that you and your dog need to achieve a life time of successful learning including focus, targeting, recalls, leave-it, polite walking and settle. You will learn how to observe and reinforce desirable behaviors, and build a bond based on fun and reinforcement. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Includes a clicker and emailed homework.
Important Requirements: For all dogs over 4 months of age. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people in order to attend. Dogs who are fearful, reactive or aggressive towards people and dogs are best suited for private coaching. Please contact before registering if you're uncertain about your dog's suitability.

Ready to take your training to the next level? Expand on your foundation skills with distractions and games to help build your dog's confidence in new situations. Congratulations, skilled dog handlers! If you've completed Level 2 Manners, continue your training journey through interactive training games. Develop enthusiastic recalls, working at a level that's appropriate for your dog. Learn the 'Five Rules of Recall' to build a solid recall. Build awareness of your surroundings so you can respond proactively. Determine your dog's unique motivators to build fast recall skills around common distractions. 3 weekly classes. Important Requirements: Dogs must have completed Basic Manners. This is an active class. Dogs and owners must be physically fit and able to run. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.

In this class, we'll teach your dog the art of polite greetings using positive reinforcement techniques. Turn leash walking into a joyful and rewarding experience for both you and your dog! Transform your dog's walking manners from a frustrating tug-of-war into a harmonious and enjoyable stroll. Transform your dog into a trick-tastic sensation! This class is designed to be a fun and interactive experience for both you and your dog. In this class, you'll teach your dog a variety entertaining tricks while building a strong bond and mutual trust. Using the clicker training method, we'll emphasize clear communication and reward-based techniques to make learning a breeze. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs.

Therapy dogs volunteer with their owners to sit with people who need comfort or affection. Therapy work can include visiting hospitals and senior centers, offering students comfort during exams, or helping children learn to read.
Course Details:
Designed to equip handlers and their dogs with the essential skills and knowledge needed to become a successful therapy dog team. Teams will learn about the role and ideal traits of therapy dogs, handler expectations, understanding canine body language, and preparation for Therapy Dog Certification Testing. Training activities will include manners during therapy visits, greeting and handling by strangers, calmness around distractions, noises, novel objects, and other dogs. 6 Classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. First class is people only (no dogs)

Put your dog's incredible nose to work while building confidence, and providing healthy mental exercise. Inspired by working drug and bomb detection dogs, Nosework is the fun search activity for all dogs. It burns mental energy, reduces stress and anxiety, increases focus, and builds confidence. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs. Includes a Birch Scent Kit and emailed homework.

From tempting food smells and enticing toys to intriguing dog scents, unexpected sounds, and movement, each week presents new challenges to build your dog’s resilience and drive. This class is perfect for fine-tuning precision and preparing for advanced Nosework environments and trials.
Important Requirements: Dogs must have completed Level 3 Nosework and be able to search for Birch, Anise and Clove in container and interiors.

This is a casual drop-in designed for teams who have completed at least Level 2 Nosework. These discounted sessions offer an opportunity to keep your dog's nosework skills sharp during the winter months. With minimal instruction, participants are encouraged to collaborate and exchange ideas. Teams will help with set up and take down of cubicles and search areas. This is a relaxed practice setting—perfect for trying new searches and enjoying the company of fellow nosework enthusiasts.
Important Requirements: Dogs must have completed Level 2 Nosework and be able to search for Birch Odor in interior settings.

We have two versions of this class. Calm & Focused for Teenage Dogs is for adolescent dogs under the age of 2. Calm & Focused for Adult Dogs is for dogs over 2 years of age. This class is a good fit for dogs who have 'big feelings', who may be over-excited, highly distracted, worried, lacking confidence, or mildly reactive. We will be using pattern games to help your dog acclimate, cope, relax and focus on you in a class environment. Bring all the treats, we'll be using them! 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Includes emailed homework.
Prerequisite: Basic Manners or Private Lessons are required prior to joining this class. Dogs who struggle with moderate to severe reactive behavior (barking and lunging at other dogs) are best suited for Feisty Fido Class. Contact us if you need help deciding which class is the best fit.

A relationship building, introductory class for dogs who have a desire to, or history of, chasing or becoming overly excited/aroused around wildlife. Learn force free, reinforcement based strategies to channel your dog's natural instincts in a safe and rewarding manner. Instead of fighting your dog's natural urges, your dog will learn to see you as a partner when wildlife are near. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs. This course is not applicable for addressing chasing of bicycles, joggers, dogs, children, other pets or farm animals.

Reduce your dog's fear, anxiety and stress during grooming, veterinary exams and husbandry at home. In collaboration with experts from All Paws Veterinary Clinic, we will teach you how to prevent and alleviate stress using Fear Free protocols. The last class includes a visit to All Paws Veterinary Clinic for a positive and successful veterinary clinic visit for you and your dog, while putting your new skills into practice. 6 weekly classes. Designed for dogs struggling with fear, reactivity, or aggression towards dogs and other triggers, this class uses compassionate, science-backed behavior modification techniques. Together, we'll replace undesirable behaviors like barking, lunging, or snapping with positive, calm, focused behavior. Discover how to identify and interpret your dog's body language and triggers. We'll equip you with the tools to manage challenging situations confidently, and calmly for both you and your dog. 5 weekly classes. Has your dog completed our Feisty Fido Class and shown promising progress? In this class, we continue to work on creating calmer, focused behaviors, and reducing stress. With a focus on building confidence around fellow dogs and other triggers, we provide a secure environment for your dogs to thrive. We will meet at the Wise Canine facility each week, and go on a group training walk to practice in real-life situations. If it's too cold outside, we'll remain at the training space for indoor training. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 5 Dogs.
Prerequisite: Teams must have completed Feisty Fido.

Does your dog struggle with fear, anxiety, or stress during grooming, vet visits, or routine handling at home? In this 1-hour drop-in class, we’ll teach you how to help your dog feel more comfortable and confident during these situations. Learn to prevent and alleviate stress using force-free, positive training techniques and Fear Free protocols. Each session is a stand-alone drop-in class. You can sign up for one or all of them depending on your goals and schedule. Homework will not be provided. Maximum of 6 Dogs.

Our Stranger Danger class is designed to help dogs who are fearful or hesitant when meeting new people, providing them with the confidence they need in social situations. Through positive reinforcement and gradual exposure, we create a safe and supportive environment for your dog to build trust and feel more at ease around strangers. This class is ideal for shy or reserved dogs but is not intended for dogs showing aggression toward people. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs. Includes emailed homework.
