Lessons and classes are non-refundable and non-transferable from the time of purchase.
If you miss a class, we are unable to offer make-up classes.

To Register: select the start date of the class you'd like to join. Once we've approved your registration, you will receive an invoice. If we don't recieve payment within 2 days of your registration, we will release your spot so others can sign up.
We'd love your input on which classes you're most interested in. View the full list of classes we can offer. If any of these catch your eye, please select them to be added to the wait-list. If there's enough interest in a particular class, we'll schedule it and notify you first.

Excited about your new puppy? Puppy Start Right helps Yukon puppies build confidence, learn basic skills, and enjoy early socialization in a safe, supportive environment.
When: Mondays, start anytime (sometimes we have space limitations)
6:00 PM: Young Puppies (under 16 weeks)
7:30 PM: Older Puppies (16–20 weeks)
Puppies who age out of the young group move into the older group automatically
Format: 4 weekly classes
Vaccine: Puppies can join class 7 to 14 days after their first DAPP vaccine and must stay current with all recommended puppy vaccinations. Puppies who have been sick with Parvo must wait 28 days after they have fully recovered before attending classes.
Why Puppy Start Right: Start anytime with open enrollment. Small classes ensure safe, calm interactions and individual coaching, while each session provides hands-on training, socialization practice, and puppy-raising guidance.

Our Social Play Groups are designed to give puppies and teenage dogs the chance to interact with their peers under the guidance of an expert. Whether your young dog is a social butterfly or a cautious wallflower needing encouragement, we’re here to support them! Maximum of 6 dogs.
Important Requirements: Dogs must be currently enrolled in a Wise Canine class or have completed one in the past. This helps us ensure they are a good fit for the group. If your dog struggles with reactive or aggressive behaviors such as barking, lunging, or fighting, these sessions might not be a good fit. We’d be happy to discuss private coaching options.

Basic Manners Class is for older puppies, teens and adult dogs who need to learn the basics. Learn foundation skills and behaviors that you and your dog need to achieve a life time of successful learning including focus, targeting, recalls, leave-it, polite walking and settle. You will learn how to observe and reinforce desirable behaviors, and build a bond based on fun and reinforcement. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Includes a clicker and emailed homework.
Important Requirements: For all dogs over 4 months of age. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people in order to attend. Dogs who are fearful, reactive or aggressive towards people and dogs are best suited for private coaching. Please contact before registering if you're uncertain about your dog's suitability.

Congratulations, skilled dog handlers! If you've completed Level 2 Manners, continue your training journey through interactive training games. For adolescent dogs under the age of 2 (we will consider older dogs if they're a good fit) who have 'big feelings', who may be over-excited, highly distracted, worried, lacking confidence, or mildly reactive. We will be using pattern games to help your dog acclimate, cope, relax and focus on you in a class environment. Bring all the treats, we'll be using them! 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Prerequisite: Basic Manners or Private Lessons are required prior to joining this class. Dogs who struggle with moderate to severe reactive behavior (consistently barking and lunging at people or other dogs) are best suited for Private Lessons.

For teams who have completed Calm & Focused and are ready to practice their skills in real-life outdoor settings. This class is ideal for young, excited, distracted, or less confident dogs. We’ll continue building focus and calmness using pattern games and relaxation techniques, helping your dog feel more comfortable and capable around everyday distractions. 4 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Includes emailed homework.
Prerequisite: Completion of Calm & Focused class is required prior to joining this class. Dogs who struggle with moderate to severe reactive behavior (barking and lunging at other dogs) may find this class too overwhelming. Contact us if you need help deciding which class is the best fit.

Develop enthusiastic recalls, working at a level that's appropriate for your dog. Learn the 'Five Rules of Recall' to build a solid recall. Build awareness of your surroundings so you can respond proactively. Determine your dog's unique motivators to build fast recall skills around common distractions. 3 weekly classes. Important Requirements: Dogs must have completed Basic Manners. This is an active class. Dogs and owners must be physically fit and able to run. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.

In this class, we'll teach your dog the art of polite greetings using positive reinforcement techniques. Turn leash walking into a joyful and rewarding experience for both you and your dog! Transform your dog's walking manners from a frustrating tug-of-war into a harmonious and enjoyable stroll. Designed to equip handlers and their dogs with the essential skills and knowledge needed to become a successful therapy dog team. Teams will learn about the role and ideal traits of therapy dogs, handler expectations, understanding canine body language, and preparation for Therapy Dog Certification Testing. Training activities will include manners during therapy visits, greeting and handling by strangers, calmness around distractions, noises, novel objects, and other dogs. 5 Classes. Maximum of 6 dogs.
All participants must complete a mandatory online self-paced course before attending the first in-person class. This course is about one hour long and covers what a therapy dog is, handler and dog expectations, and the certification process. Teams who have not completed the online orientation prior to class will not be permitted to participate.
Important Requirements: Dogs must be over one year of age, have completed Level 2 Manners, be extremely confident, and be friendly with other dogs and people. Please contact before registering if you're uncertain about your dog's suitability.

A relationship building, introductory class for dogs who have a desire to, or history of, chasing or becoming overly excited/aroused around wildlife. Learn force free, reinforcement based strategies to channel your dog's natural instincts in a safe and rewarding manner. Instead of fighting your dog's natural urges, your dog will learn to see you as a partner when wildlife are near. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs. This course is not applicable for addressing chasing of bicycles, joggers, dogs, children, other pets or farm animals.

Curious about showing your dog in conformation but not sure where to start? This introductory class is designed to help you and your dog build the skills and confidence needed to step into the ring.
We’ll cover the basics of Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) conformation showing, including how shows work, what judges are looking for, and how dogs are evaluated against the breed standard. You and your dog will also begin learning practical ring skills including moving your dog correctly, stacking your dog so they can be seen at their best, helping your dog become comfortable being examined by a judge, showmanship and ring handling techniques to present your dog confidently. 4 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 dogs. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people in order to attend.
About Leslie (the instructor): Leslie has been involved in the purebred dogs since 1999, and started showing in conformation in 2003. She has owned and/or bred over 40 champion and grand champion Bernese Mountain Dogs, many of which she handled to their titles herself.

Inspired by working drug and bomb detection dogs, Nosework is the fun search activity for all dogs. Casual practice sessions designed for teams who want to practice and build their search skills and have fun. These are also a great way to prepare for the upcoming UKC Nosework Trial on April 25 & 26. Whether you’re planning to compete or simply want more practice, everyone is welcome. Please expect to help provide feedback on search set-ups as part of these collaborative sessions. Helping with set-up and take down is appreciated.
Important Requirements: Novice Practices will be single container/interior hides with birch odour for teams who've completed Level 2 Nosework. Advanced practices will be multiple container/interior hides with birch, anise, and clove (vetiver and myrrh can be added if all attendees agree) for teams who've completed Level 3 Nosework.

This indoor class is designed for teams who want to build core agility skills—without jumps, tunnels, or full courses. Each dog-handler team trains in their own cubicle, so there’s no waiting your turn—just focused practice from start to finish. You’ll work on impulse control, foundation stays and turns, directional cues, handling, and confidence with body pressure and table work. This is a casual drop-in designed for teams who have completed Intro to Parkour or advanced level Manners Classes. We will visit new locations to practice parkour positions on various objects —such as jumping on benches, weaving through trees, going under branches and through narrow openings. This is a perfect blend of physical activity and mental stimulation in a supportive and creative environment. Important Requirements: Dogs must have completed Intro Parkour (if your dog has significant agility and manners skills, contact us to discuss suitability) in order to attend. In collaboration with experts from All Paws Veterinary Clinic, we will teach you how to prevent and alleviate stress using Fear Free protocols. The last class includes a visit to All Paws Veterinary Clinic for a positive and successful veterinary clinic visit for you and your dog, while putting your new skills into practice. 6 weekly classes. This class may be too challenging for dogs who struggle with severe fear or aggression during handling and vet visits. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people in order to attend. Has your dog completed our Feisty Fido Class and shown promising progress? In this class, we continue to work on creating calmer, focused behaviors, and reducing stress. With a focus on building confidence around fellow dogs and other triggers, we provide a secure environment for your dogs to thrive. We will meet at the Wise Canine facility each week, and go on a group training walk to practice in real-life situations. If it's too cold outside, we'll remain at the training space for indoor training. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 5 Dogs.
Prerequisite: Teams must have completed Feisty Fido.

Designed for sensitive or reactive dogs, each walk provides structured opportunities to practice leash skills, focus, and calm behavior around other dogs—while maintaining safe distances and a low-stress environment.asses. For teams who have completed Feisty Fido or Level 2 Feisty Fido. In this continuing course, we focus on helping reactive dogs build confidence around other dogs in outdoor public spaces. Training in a controlled, natural environment is a powerful way to reinforce calm behaviors and help dogs feel more secure in real-life situations. With guidance from Certified Instructor, Kieran Halliday (who specializes in reactivity), you'll practice management skills, work on focus, and strengthen your dog’s ability to stay engaged in a supportive group setting. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs.
Prerequisite: Teams must have completed Feisty Fido or Level 2 Feisty Fido.

Does your dog struggle with fear, anxiety, or stress during grooming, vet visits, nail care, or routine handling at home? Get one-on-one help from Jenn to address your dog's unique handling concerns. In this 1-hour drop-in class, we’ll teach you how to help your dog feel more comfortable and confident during these situations. Learn to prevent and alleviate stress using force-free, positive training techniques and Fear Free protocols. Each session is a stand-alone drop-in class. Prerequisite: Basic Manners or Private Lessons are required prior to joining this class. This class may be too challenging for dogs who struggle with severe fear or aggression during handling and vet visits. Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people in order to attend. Dogs who are fearful, reactive or aggressive towards people and dogs are best suited for private coaching. Please contact before registering if you're uncertain about your dog's suitability.

Is your dog nervous or timid around unfamiliar people? Our Stranger Danger class is designed to help dogs who are fearful or hesitant when meeting new people, providing them with the confidence they need in social situations. Through positive reinforcement and gradual exposure, we create a safe and supportive environment for your dog to build trust and feel more at ease around strangers. This class is ideal for shy or reserved dogs but is not intended for dogs showing aggression toward people. 5 weekly classes. Maximum of 6 Dogs. Includes emailed homework.
