Leslie Joanisse is Wise Canine’s resident puppy expert, bringing over two decades of experience in raising and training puppies to our team. Certified as a Puppy Start Right Instructor through the Karen Pryor Academy, Leslie specializes in providing essential early training and socialization for puppies, setting them up for a lifetime of good behavior.
As the owner of Borealbreeze Bernese Mountain Dogs, Leslie has been a responsible breeder of CKC Registered Bernese Mountain Dogs for more than 20 years. She has personally raised 21 puppies of her own into adulthood and nurtured 23 litters, ensuring they grew into happy, confident companions for their new families. Her expertise in careful selection of breeding parents, plus exposure, socialization, and confidence building of her litters makes her an invaluable resource for new puppy parents.
Leslie also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology, which has provided her with a strong foundation in genetics, ethology, structure, and nutrition. This academic background enhances her ability to understand and support the unique needs of puppies and their development.
In addition to her training work, Leslie runs Borealbreeze Premium Pet Products, offering raw food, nutritional supplements, toys, and specialty pet products to Whitehorse residents. Her holistic approach to puppy care and training, combined with her passion for supporting pet owners, helps her provide the highest level of care and expertise.

A comprehensive course developed by a Veterinary Behaviorist and Certified Trainer covering puppy socialization curriculum, growth and development, problem-solving, preventing or solving common puppy behavior problems, interrupting play appropriately, and safe class and teaching set-up.
