 Pre-Class information

Welcome to Wise Canine Group Classes

By signing up for classes with Wise Canine you have already demonstrated that you want the best for your dog. Now, with a little work and a lot of fun, you and your dog will build foundation skills for a lifetime of learning.

Pre-Class Learning

Prior to attending your first class you may want to know a little bit about canine body language, and clicker training. We use clicker and marker training in most of our classes.

Directions & Rules

  • We’re located at 95 Lewes Boulevard in the Leisure on Lewes Mall (mall where the Bowling Alley is located)

  • Do not potty your dog on the property, when you arrive, walk through the alley and use the forested area behind the chain link fence.

  • Always pick up after your dog. Place poop bags in the wooden garbage inside the training space, to the right of the door.

  • Outdoor shoes must be removed when entering the training space.

What to bring to class?

  • A full baggy of yummy treats cut into tiny pieces (cheese or hot dogs work well) and bring WAY more treats than you think you'll need.

  • A water dish, we no longer have communal water dishes to prevent the spread of canine respiratory illnesses.

  • Harness, flat collar, or head halter (no martingale, choke, prong or e-collars please).

  • A treat pouch, fanny pack, or sweater with a front pouch.

  • Regular leash (no flexi leashes please).

  • Indoor shoes or slippers if desired.

  • A snuffle mat if you have one, and feel that it may help to relax your dog.

  • Dogs who are less food motivated may benefit from eating a smaller meal before class, or eating dinner after class.

  • The entire family is encouraged to attend class. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 8 should have two adults present (one puppy parent and one child parent).
