'START ANYTIME' PUPPY START RIGHT CLASSES

Puppy Start Right Is For

  • Large breed puppies under 4 months of age

  • Small breed puppies under 6 months of age

  • Puppies who have recieved their first DAPP vaccine (usually given at 8 weeks)

  • Have an older puppy? Check out Basic Manners.

How Puppy Start Right Works

  • Start any time with open enrollment (we welcome new students every week, as long as we have room)

  • Classes are taken in order, attending weekly, for 4 weeks. Puppies can attend additional classes as long as they are under 16 weeks of age.

  • Each class includes training, puppy raising topics, and socialization activities.

  • The 'Start Anytime' approach ensures that your puppy experiences positive socialization exactly when it's needed.

You Will Learn

  • How to provide positive proactive socialization opportunities

  • Potty training tips

  • Crate training tips

  • How to prevent separation anxiety

  • How to prevent biting and destroying

  • How to train basic, puppy appropriate training behaviors

  • How to build a bond based on trust and positive reinforcement

Your Puppy Will Learn

  • To potty outside

  • Confidence around new people

  • Confidence around other dogs

  • Confidence around new objects and situations

  • To enjoy handling and husbandry

  • To drop and trade objects

  • To love crate time

Why Is It Important?

  • The first three months of a puppy's life are critical for socialization.

  • It's important for puppies to be safely introduced to various dogs, people, objects, sounds and environments during this period.

  • Providing a safe, structured, and supervised setting is essential for successful socialization.

  • According to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, puppies should begin attending classes before completing their full vaccination schedule.

  • Unfortunately, puppies isolated until after four months of age are at a higher risk of developing issues with fear and anxiety.

Puppy Social Play Groups – Safe, supervised play sessions where puppies can develop social skills, learn appropriate play behavior, and build confidence around other dogs. Led by experienced trainers, these sessions provide positive early socialization experiences in a controlled setting.

Basic Manners Class - For older puppies who need to learn the basics. Learn foundation skills and behaviors that you and your dog need to achieve a life time of successful learning including focus, targeting, recalls, leave-it, polite walking and settle.
